Information letter Boompjes Residential Towers #5

Dear Residents and Business Owners,

On Wednesday, 17 February 2021, Rotterdam councillor Bas Kurvers (Construction, Housing and Built Environment Energy Transition) unveiled the name of the new residential towers at the Boompjes: ‘Clubhouse Boompjes’. The councillor was joined by Wim Wensing, CIO of Amvest, for the symbolic website launch of this new living concept, which will soon become a striking addition to the city skyline.

Diversity in living
Clubhouse Boompjes will comprise 342 mid-range private sector rental homes, a commercial plinth and an innovative mobility concept. The diverse residential options will include 29 starter apartments and 144 co-living residences. Each resident will have their own spacious (bed)room with ensuite bathroom, while other facilities will be shared.

The ground floor will house commercial spaces as well as a central lobby where residents can work, relax with a coffee, receive packages or reserve transport. Clubhouse Boompjes will not have private parking, but there will be a mobility hub in the car park allowing residents to access cars, bicycles or scooters when required.

The concept of sharing
At the heart of Clubhouse Boompjes is an innovative living concept based on an ingenious sharing of space. Co-living will reduce costs and shared office facilities will offer greater flexibility and shorter commutes. The concept also applies to the mobility hub where residents will be able to travel without having to purchase or look after a vehicle. In other words, they will only use what they need.

Construction
We are currently working hard on this special project, which is scheduled for completion in 2024. Two thirds of the anchor piles for the construction pit are now in place. Once the anchors have been installed, the basement can be demolished and the construction pit excavated. In April, we will start placing the foundation piles. The piles will be drilled rather than driven into the ground, an almost noise-free process that does not cause vibration
